Painting by Louise Ruelland
One of a Kind (Christmas, 2025)

Trees have always meant something deep to Louise. They offer protection, strength, and shade. And their leaves, she says, are fleeting jewels. Brief, beautiful, and generous to everyone who stops to admire them.

SAHAJA YOGA IN SASKATCHEWAN

Sahaja Yoga came to Saskatchewan about 25 years ago, thanks to a devoted yogini who led Self-realization programs on her own for many years. Over time, more yogi families arrived, and newcomers were warmly welcomed into the collective. Today, the province has two main collectives in Saskatoon and Regina, where every gathering, whether meditation, pujas, or simply sharing time together, is cherished.

The people of Saskatchewan are warm-hearted and connected to Mother Earth, inspiring yogis to share Sahaja Yoga with the wider community. Through a partnership with the Regina Public Library, several weekly programs are now offered, alongside an online program and occasional Self-realization events.

If you travel across the Prairies, please stop by. We would love to make you feel at home.

MUSIC THERAPY LED BY A 12 YEAR OLD YUVA

Recently in Whitby, Ontario, our collective experienced a truly special class led by 12-year-old yuva Aaradhya.

With natural confidence and sweetness, she guided us in music therapy, singing the notes for each chakra, moving through the scale and into AUM. She held the room's attention completely. When she demonstrated how she practices her scales at home, a deep silence filled the space, and the vibrations flowed strongly.

She concluded the program with silent meditation accompanied by an instrumental version of Bramha Shodhile, played on the violin by her music teacher, Sahaja yogi Milind Dalal.

To deepen the experience, we also listened to short excerpts from Shri Mataji speaking about singing on the chakras, presented through Scandinavia’s Sahaja Yoga Going Deeper Singing on Chakras.

The program concluded in a beautiful atmosphere. Many of us stayed back, sharing Erna’s tea and warm conversation, simply enjoying the vibrations and each other’s company. We feel deeply blessed to witness such young talent blossoming within our Whitby collective, and we extend our heartfelt thanks to Aaradhya’s mother, Pratchy, for her loving guidance and support.

BARRIE WOMEN'S
SHOW

A Beautiful moment from the Barrie Women's Show 2026, where many seekers received their Self-realization. The program was amazing. Many Sahaja Yogis came to support the Self-realization program even though the weather condition wasn't that good. As usual, our dear sister Ankita and her lovely family invited all the Sahaj yogis to their home. It was a blessed weekend for us to be part of this beautiful event.

VANCOUVER WELLNESS SHOW

At this year’s Wellness Show in Vancouver, Sahaja Yogis from the BC collective hosted a Self-realization booth. Over 12,000 people attended, many stopping by to learn about Sahaja Yoga, ask questions, and try guided meditation. We are deeply grateful to all who came with an open heart, and to our volunteers who made the booth warm, welcoming, and full of positive energy.

CREATIVE EXPRESSION

LOUISE RUELLAND

Contemporary Impressionist,

Quebec, Canada

There is a moment that happens in front of one of Louise Ruelland's paintings. You are not quite sure when it begins. You are simply standing there, and then somehow you are inside it.

few-years-after-sr-i-just-let-go-on-painting-elephants_edited.jpg

Louise has been painting for over forty years. No art school, no formal teacher. Just a palette knife, oil paint, and something far harder to learn than technique. An innate and growing sense of light. Her journey began with a dream, long before her Self-realization, in which she saw herself standing before an easel, painting. She woke from that dream and never really stopped.

The countryside was her first teacher. Forests, fields, and the quiet drama of the natural world found their way onto her canvas in thick, expressive strokes, colour laid generously and freely, never quite staying where you expect it to.

But the question that kept returning to her was not about technique or style. It was about meaning. Why painting? Why this path?

Painting Let go on painting elephants (2000)

When she met our Divine Mother, Shri Mataji, Mother placed Her hand on Louise's shoulder and said simply, "Paint with your heart." Those four words, she says, were a deep relief felt from within. Not just direction. Relief. As though something that had always been true was finally spoken aloud. Since that day, every composition begins in gratitude and ends in surrender.

She thanks Nature for being the model. She thanks the Kundalini for the inspiration. And then she lets go completely. She speaks of the vibrations guiding the palette knife through layers of colour and impasto texture, building surfaces that seem to hold light from within rather than simply reflect it.

Her work has travelled from Quebec to New York, Italy, France, and the Louvre Museum in Paris. Through all of it, she has remained exactly who she is. Humble, devoted, kind and quietly certain that the vibrations do everything.

Painting Explotion de couleur (2022)

People who encounter her paintings for the first time, with no knowledge of Sahaja Yoga and no particular connection to art, have described being stopped completely. Something in the layering of colour and the freedom of each stroke creates a three-dimensional aliveness that pulls the viewer in before they have had a chance to decide how they feel.

We are deeply honoured and truly grateful to Auntie Louise for offering her painting "One of a Kind" to open this inaugural issue. May it carry her vibrations into every home it reaches.

DEVI SCHOOL FEATURED BY CBC NEWS

Opened in 2017, International Devi School began the year 2026 with wonderful news.

In January, CBC News featured the vibrant school in Nova Scotia, showcasing students from different countries living under one roof and learning not only about their own cultures, but also about one another. The report beautifully captures the spirit of unity, diversity, and shared growth that makes the school so unique.

BENEFITS OF SAHAJA YOGA: SCIENTIFIC INSIGHTS & SPIRITUAL UNDERSTANDING

Researchers in Spain have recently discovered that individuals who practise Sahaja Yoga Meditation over the long term have greater grey matter volume in their brains than those who do not meditate.

See here the full paper: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/33370272/.

Notably, these increases are most pronounced in brain regions associated with attention and emotional self-control.

To date, no other meditation technique or practice has demonstrated such a marked increase in grey matter volume.

For Sahaja yogis, this scientific revelation is not entirely surprising. Many of us have already come to know how meditation improves our attention and benefits our emotional being.

From the moment of receiving Self-realization, Shri Mataji has opened the door to the absolute for Her children, granting them pure knowledge and the potential for spiritual evolution. Meditation stands as the most crucial practice for maintaining balance and drawing closer to Her vibrations. Simply sitting in meditation can bring about the transformation we need.
