Shri Mataji,

Mother of all universes

Mother of all mothers,
You are the embodiment of motherhood in all beings.
You are compassionate love, the source of all kindness, and the patience behind the evolution of humankind.

Thank You for holding our hands and helping us stand, grow, and evolve. Your motherly love gathers all Your children into Your holy body, the safest place to be; a place to grow collectively, to rise beyond individualism, and to understand that in Sahaja Yoga, all comes from the one divine source: the eternal Divine Mother.

You are the love that nourishes the Tree of Life.
You are the primordial love that gives unconditionally, does everything for us, and believes in us that we can become the reflection of truth in this human body; The reflection of love, unity, and infinity.

Mother, You are the spring and the door.
Mother, You are the beginning and the end.
Mother, You are the rise of humanity toward a higher ascent.

Mother, You have given us the light of vibrations in our hands.
Mother, You have given us the divine light in our brains.
Mother, You have awakened us to the light in our spirit.

You are the Supreme Light.

Thank You for the sacred opportunity to be Your children. Thank You, again and again.

We are humbled.

FROM BACKYARDS TO A CENTRE :
THE JOURNEY OF SAHAJA YOGA IN CALGARY

2024 Summer.jpg

Over 20 years ago, the story of Sahaja Yoga Calgary started with just a handful of "yogis and yoginis."

These pioneers were driven by a simple mission: to share the experience of self-realization with their neighbours. In those early days, the "yoga center" was wherever there was an open heart, be it a public library, a local school, a busy mall, or even a private backyard.

Traditionally, sacred offerings such as havans and pujas were performed in members' homes, creating a close-knit, family-like atmosphere.

This foundation of collective meditation and devotion eventually led to a major milestone: with the blessings of our beloved Mother Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi, a permanent center was purchased in 2011 at Meridian Rd SE.

WHERE TRADITION MEETS THE WEST

The Calgary center is unique in its atmosphere.

While it stays true to ancient meditative traditions, it maintains a "western traditionally stylish" aesthetic that welcomes visitors from all over the world.

It serves as a sanctuary where locals can escape the hustle of city life to enjoy:

  • Weekly Meditation:Held every Monday and Wednesday at the center.

  • Weekend Meditation: Held every Saturday or Sunday

  • Collective Pujas/Havans: Traditional ceremonies where profound devotions and love toward Shri Mataji.

  • Nature Retreats: Weekend meditations held in the beautiful Alberta wilderness

COMMUNITY SPOTLIGHT: MEADOWVALE MEDITATION CLASS GAINS RECOGNITION

The Meadowvale class in Mississauga, Ontario, resumed in September 2025 after a COVID pause, and it has been a wonderful opportunity to welcome seekers to this area once again.

Following this restart, City Councillor Martin Reid surprised our class by attending one of our meditation sessions at the Meadowvale Community Center.

During his visit, we took the opportunity to share the essence of Sahaja Yoga with him, knowing that he values connection and well-being.

Inspired by his experience, the City Councillor recognized our efforts by giving our class a shoutout on his Instagram profile and by sharing the Sahaja Yoga pamphlet, helping spread awareness about the benefits of meditation in the community.

The Annual Cultural Programme, held on April 25, 2026 at the Brampton Centre in Ontario, was a beautiful evening filled with joy, laughter, and collectivity in celebration of Shri Mataji’s birthday. Organized with great love and dedication by the GTA collective, the programme featured heartfelt performances by yogis of all ages, from charming children’s acts to music, dance, skits, and instrumental performances that filled the atmosphere with vibrations and togetherness. Every part of the evening reflected the collective effort and love that made the celebration so special.

SAHAJA YOGA IN HAMILTON

A Sahaja Yoga event was held in Hamilton on March 1st, during which around 50 seekers got their self-realization.

image10.jpg

Sahaja Yoga in Hamilton restarted with its first major Self-realization event at the “Spice of India” event. During this event, over 100 seekers received their Self-realization. Following the event, approximately 15 seekers began attending the classes regularly.

Meditation classes in Hamilton were restarted in September 2025 after several yogis moved to the city between 2023 and 2024. Since then, classes have grown steadily with 8-10 seekers attending the weekly sessions every Thursday.

Recently, we hosted a foot-soaking workshop at a yogini’s home, where participants learned the technique and experienced deeper meditation in a warm, collective environment.

Kudos to the Burlington yogis, who supported the classes in Hamilton before and continue to do so; they have helped keep the collective active with a handful of sahaja yogis.

With continued dedication and collective effort, Sahaja Yoga classes in Hamilton are gradually expanding, bringing peace to the seekers in the community.

EAT WELL LIVE WELL EXPO, TORONTO

We had an absolutely incredible Self-realization program at the Eat Well Live Well Expo on April 18 and 19 in downtown Toronto

On numerous occasions, every seat was filled, with attendees lining up to experience Self-realization; many even participated while standing.

There was no break in between; the Self-realization event was such a hit that seekers kept coming in.

I truly feel this is the time when human beings are ready to receive their Self-realization and embrace the transformative power it brings.

APRIL SELF-REALIZATION EVENTS IN NEWMARKET AND AURORA, ONTARIO

In April 2026, we were blessed to organize two beautiful Self-Realization events in Newmarket and Aurora, Ontario.

One of the highlights was the event at the Home & Lifestyle Show in Newmarket on March 28 & 29.

While the show did not attract hundreds of people, those who received their Self-realization were genuine.

For example, Nina, Marico, and John were a few seekers who were truly grateful, enjoyed the experience, and showed keen interest in attending the Sahaja Yoga class in Newmarket.

Both venues, in Newmarket and Aurora, were filled with beautiful, cool vibrations, and it was truly heartwarming to see so many yogis come together to support the programs and share joy, love, and collective spirit.

A special highlight was a deeply soothing flute performance by our brother Igor, which added a calm and meditative depth to the experience.

Heartfelt thanks go to Uncle Abuzair for his constant support in organizing Self-Realization events, to Devdutt for helping with the setup, and to everyone who contributed their time, energy, and presence. Your collective effort made these events meaningful, joyful, and deeply nourishing for all involved.

INVITATION FROM THE KAMLOOPS, BC COLLECTIVE

Our five-bedroom collective riverfront home in Kamloops, BC, is available beginning May 15, 2026.

Our home functions as an ashram, where we gather daily for morning and evening meditations.

We invite fellow yogis who wish to deepen their spiritual growth. Join us in sharing Sahaja Yoga collective activities and spreading Sahaja Yoga to smaller towns and communities throughout the BC interior.

The property has a large permaculture garden, and we’re seeking individuals interested in small-scale farming and growing fruits and vegetables to share with our community.

No prior experience is needed, just a sincere willingness to learn and connect with our Mother Nature. You can also join the Kamloops Farmers’ Market, running from April to November.

We share our home with Nesha, our friendly, hypoallergenic puppy, a Poodle-Bernese Mountain Dog cross. She brings warmth, innocence, and joy to the space.

Please contact Rob by phone or email if you are interested, have questions, or would like to arrange a visit.
